From Grad Nite 1988 at Disneyland. These were two of the performers that year (along with Run DMC and Michael Bolton). Videopolis has two more Grad Nite ‘88 posts here and here.
When I graduated in 1992, we had Shanice, RTZ, Mint Condition, MC Lyte, and Paul Rodriguez doing comedy in Tomorrowland (or, as he called it, “Mañana City”).

I miss working at the drink stand under this rocket (The Moonliner) and launching peoples’ drink bottles into the air…that is, when the air hose would provide enough pressure for the launcher to get the bottle above the counter.
I’d have a bottle of water in the launcher ready to go (switching it out once in a while for another bottle if it was in there long enough to start to get warm), and if a kid ordered one, I’d go into “countdown mode” and have the kid count down with me to launch. It was fun when the launcher worked, a little embarrassing when it didn’t.
The down side to working at The Moonliner was having to bring all of the day’s inventory out on a dolly, then stashing the dolly backstage to unload the leftover inventory at the end of the day. Well, that and the fact that it was hard to position the umbrella somewhere that it would actually shade me without putting it right in front of the counter.
Still, it was a unique location and I enjoyed being there.

Looking for the old Home Icons blog? It's here. I don't really update it much anymore unless someone requests something, but I've had people ask me where it went so I figured I should bring the link back to the sidebar.
