The Haunted Mansion - Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
This is a really good edit.
Starting in 1961 and lasting perhaps as late as 1965, Disneyland visitors would have found full-scale sets from the Disney feature ‘Babes In Toyland’ they could walk through inside the Main Street Opera house.
In the reminiscence of a member of MiceChat (posted in 2010), they state: “I went through it as a very small kid. All I remember clearly was that it was kinda dark in there and that it scared the crap out of me. I remember it as a large dark area filled with big scary things. I think I have a memory of walking inside a giant mushroom. Or maybe that was just something I remember from the nightmares the walkthrough probably caused. Sorry but that’s as specific as my memories are. I know I never went in there again. It was just the once on what must have been my first visit to Disneyland. Once was enough.”
Sadly, very few photos exist of the interior, but the one above showing the ‘haunted forest’ area and one additional one of the ‘village’ set are the most commonly circulated.
The marching wooden soldiers from the film caught on and remain a Disneyland staple each year in the Christmas Parade, but the rest of the film elements and park presence are by-and-large entirely forgotten.
The sets were cleared from the Opera House for the installation of Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln following the 1964 World’s Fair.
Brave won the Golden Globe.
This is really good!!!
Ralph’s OK, though, because when the Nicelanders lift him up, he gets a perfect view of Merida staying single and letting her hair flow in the wind as she rides through the glen firing arrows into the sunset. The kid’s a natural.
Turns out Ralph doesn’t need a Golden Globe to tell him he’s a good guy. Because if Merida likes him, how bad can he be?

Magic Kingdom - Country Bears Vacation Hoedown - 1991
The other Country Bear show.
This version ran at the Magic Kingdom from 1986-1992, after which the original show returned (well, until late last year when about five minutes was removed from the show to present a shortened version instead).
This version also ran at Disneyland from 1986 until the attraction closed in 2001.

Name: Roger Rabbit
First Appeared: 1988
Fun Fact: Roger Rabbit is described (design-wise) as having a “Warners face”, a “Disney body”, a “Tex Avery attitude”, Goofy’s overalls, Mickey Mouse’s gloves, and Porky Pig’s bowtie. Animation director Richard Williams says he based his Roger color model on the American flag (red overalls, white body, blue tie) so that “everyone would subliminally like it”.
It didn’t work on my mom. She absolutely hates Roger.
Me personally? I’ve got a couple original cels from the movie hanging in my room. I dig Roger.
Name: Baby Herman
First Appeared: 1988
Fun Fact: Joel Silver’s cameo as the director of the Baby Herman cartoon was a prank on Disney chief Michael Eisner by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. Eisner and Silver hated each other from their days at Paramount Pictures in the early ’80s, particularly after the difficulties involved in making 48 Hrs.. Silver shaved off his beard, paid his own expenses, and kept his name out of all initial cast sheets. When Eisner was told, after the movie was complete, who was playing the director - Silver was nearly unrecognizable - he reportedly shrugged and said, “He was pretty good.”
