When boarding your ‘doom buggy’ for a trip through the WDW Haunted Mansion, one of the first things guests pass (and very quickly, far too fast to lean out and see what’s inside) is a small table with an open dictionary. As can be seen in the above photos, courtesy of the Ghost Relations Department, this book is very specifically left open on the page containing words such as ‘ghost’ and ‘ghoul’ (alongside the many derivatives of ghost).
Now that’s attention to detail in the classic Disney style: as one Imagineer put it, sanding the underside of the drawers, given pretty much only a ride employee or parks maintenance crew member would see this if they happen to stop and look closely at the book on purpose. Secrets in plain sight.
